Remembering Galen
"Galen introduced me to the art of light and has been a source of inspiration for me not only in my photographic pursuits but also in how to live and respect the gift of life on this earth. I will miss his blend of supreme technical expertise in photography and climbing and genuine, candid style. His was a light that will forever shine brightly in my view."

David Brower's son, Ken Brower offers a tribute to Galen Rowell.
The UK's Guardian newspaper provides a nice retrospective of Galen's life, calling him, "the most famous outdoor photographer in the world" and "a cross between Sir Edmund Hillary and Ansel Adams."
And Apple has kept alive an old interview with Galen.
